“I’m not on Instagram, but I do look at it. I’d never have the courage to post one of my photos, I’m afraid of other people’s judgments, even though I often expose myself in my work. Instagram is a world of perfect bodies, withering quips, it makes me feel inadequate. I look at the others: what wisecracks, what putdowns, what biceps! I’ve not yet succeeded in competing with all this pithiness. But I follow it, and I’m aware that part of the future lies there.”
